On April 9, 2025, PKF Brenson Lawlor and Walfrid Private jointly hosted the much awaited Pharmacy Owner's Conference at Killashee Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare.
Titled 'Strategies for Success', the event was attended by experts from the healthcare and community pharmacy sector, business owners, and pharmacists.
Speakers included Thomas McDonald, Audit & Advisory Partner at PKF Brenson Lawlor who gave a snapshot of the sector; Richard Collins, Managing Director of Walfrid Private/Pharma Health who spoke about strategies for pharmacists to 'scale up, max out and be exit-ready'; and Colm Baker, Owner of digital marketing company The Social Pharmacist, who stressed on the importance of marketing pharmacies in an increasingly digital world.
An intense panel discussion on best practice strategies to achieve success in the sector focused on current sector opportunites, benchmarking and how to increase overall profit margins, recent trends, pharmacy valuations and banking environment, future proofing pharmacies, personal retirement and wealth management.
The panellists were: Patrick McCormack, CEO of CARA Pharmacy Group; Geoffrey Dunne, owner of Tinahely Pharmacy, Ciara Ferguson, Audity & Advisory Partner and Jason Bradshaw, Corporate Finance Partner, both at PKF Brenson Lawlor; and Richard Collins, Managing Director at Walfrid Private/Pharma Wealth.
